The Blog is Back! Alert the Media!
Ok maybe not, but now (finally), the new website is up; I’m told the Facein is twonking the Linkbook the twittering thing is attracting stalkers and we’re following other twooters, it had to be time to add back into the mix a little unrestricted by number of words non text talk English to the socialist media offering.
Must learn more abut this modern networky stuff.
Anyhow, here we are again and I was thinking about the future – not the distant future, no point given that anyone under 55 probably won’t be able to retire anyway – but more what does the next six months hold for us?
Will we hit Christmas celebrating this year or missing the ‘firms do’ again because a client wants something turning around before the holiday? Should we care at this stage? Worrying never made anything better.
Here’s a hopefully calming humble suggestion for those who are still losing sleep over the economy, the pension’s crisis, the news of the screws hacking cough, the having both teams in the third tier next season etc
We live in interesting times, most businesses I know have stopped forecasting and are living from one month to the next with their fingers crossed – but in a way this is better – working and living for today. As Toby Foster muttered on the drive into work a few months back “the harder I work the luckier I get”; never a truer word.
So if you feel times are still hard, you are still working twice as hard for half the money or you think you are finally seeing the green shoots of recovery (or the green shoots of marigolds you planted too late – must learn something about this modern gardeny stuff) promise me you will try to relax, take a chill pill, kick back a bit and see if you can’t just work hard and play hard without worrying about it: this way, I promise – it will all come out in the wash.
